Sunday May 07, 2023
Sunday May 07, 2023
We are to respond to the gospel by studying Scripture, immersing ourselves in the Word of God. And we do this not out of obligation, because we’ve been told to, but because in His Word we know Him, we are changed by Him, we gain wisdom, we gain confidence, we receive direction, correction, clarity, love, vision for His glory and plan for His people. Everything we need we find in Him, and He is found in His Word.

“The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether.” (Psalm 19:7-9)
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” (Colossians 3:16)
“I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” (Psalm 119:11)
